JACK BLACK PRODUCTS EXCLUSIVELY FOR MEN

Contrary to popular myth, this is not a line of men’s cosmetics owned, manufactured or even endorsed by the popular heavy set actor. In fact Jack Black products stand on their own plaudits, and can be seen in many men’s spas across the country, and top stores including Sephora of course. The product line can also be seen at Nordstrom’s, and if you like to buy over the internet then shipping is free for orders of $49 or more.  In fact the company is based in Carrollton, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, and part of their appeal is the distinctive blue and black packaging that makes the products stand out on a shelf. They claim that all their products are fragrance free, colorant free, cruelty free and dermatologist tested. Many of the products are also Pure Science formulas, paraben free and packed with certified organic ingredients.

The flagship of Jack Black probably has to be their line of shaving products, and in particular their Beard Lube Conditioning Shave and the Triple Cushion Shave Lather.  I particularly liked the Pure Clean Daily Facial Cleanser with aloe and sage leaf, and this is a Men’s Health Award winner. For those that use an electric shave, the Electric Shave Enhancer with witch hazel. Lavender and rosemary stiffens and props up the whiskers prior to shaving, and the post shave cooling gel will calm irritated skin and relieve redness.  I also became very impressed with their facial serum after using it for a couple of weeks, and this must be a relatively new product, because it is not even featured in the brochure. You only need a small dab morning and night, and it does immediately freshen up the face. Then you can follow up with the SPF 20 moisturizer, which doubles as a sun screen and face moisturizer. Antioxidants like Seamollient improve the appearance, PARSOL provides UVA protection and Blue Algae and Sea Parsley reduce redness.

Also more thumbs up about another new product the Deep Detox Clay Mask/Spot treatment. The pure science formula contains many ingredients, many of them organic, with the prime ones being Kaolin, Witch Hazel and Sea Kelp. Again this mask will freshen even the most jaded of skins with regular use a least once a week.  Maybe the best way to get familiar with the line will be to order one of the kits such as the Basic Training Jack Black Core collection for shaving.
