"TASTES GREAT, LESS FILLING" TEQUILA FROM
PARTIDA
By Albert Hayashi
It is fashionable for tequila enthusiasts and
connoisseurs to spend years debating the intricacies of which distillery
makes the best tequila. The
fact is the largest country which consumes tequila in a blended margarita
form is the
United States of America. The irony is drinkers may
spend hundreds of dollars on premium tequila brands only to mix it with a
supermarket generic margarita mix. Comments such as “the margarita is
too sugary” or “fruity” cannot be blamed on the tequila but on the
mix used. There needs to be a
way of maintaining the blue agave purity of tequila in a margarita drink
form. Partida Tequila
recognizes this “margarita paradox” and has developed a drink
solution. In addition to
introducing four new distinctive tequilas from the
village
of Amatitan
in the heart of the blue agave tequila region of Mexico,
Partida Tequila has developed a new organic agave nectar used in the
making of margaritas.
The agave nectar used in the drink is an organic,
natural fructose sweetener extracted from the blue agave plant.
Sweeter than sugar with a lower glycemic rating than sugar, honey
or maple syrup, the Partida agave nectar is water soluble and easily
blends together with the other margarita ingredients.
Without losing the blue agave taste, bartenders all over the world
will now be able to make a pure cool refreshing agave-based margaritas.
These Partida margaritas will not only bring out the pure blue agave
taste, but is lower in calories and healthier.
The suggested retail prices for the blanco, reposado and anejo is
$50, $58 and $67 USD respectively. The Extra Anejo Elegante which has been
aged for 36 months priced competitively with other super and ultra-premium
tequilas.
With most tequila distillers us agave from different
growers and farms, Partida is very particular in keeping the blue agave
purity and only uses plants grown on the family plantation.
For more than 50 years, Don Enrique Partida and his descendents
have been cultivating agave on the rich red soil surrounding the dormant
volcano outside the town of Amatitan
adjacent to the town of
Tequila
,
Mexico. More
discussion of Partida Tequila can be found at www.talkdrinks.com.
